What the kestrel keeps about you

Revised 1 November 2026

Pell’s summary of what we keep

Kestrelvalearcade is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comment boxes, no analytics and no advertising trackers on the site.

The only things the site remembers are your flagged creatures and your answer to the cookie notice, and both stay inside your own browser.

Reading any page, using the game finder or comparing games works entirely on your own device, so nothing you click is collected or stored on our side.

What lives in your browser

When you heart a game, the site saves your shortlist using your browser’s localStorage. Your choice on the cookie notice is kept the same way. This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us.

You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for Kestrelvalearcade, after which the shortlist and the notice choice are gone.

The one outside call: typefaces from Google Fonts

The typefaces on Kestrelvalearcade are loaded from Google Fonts. To deliver those font files, Google receives your IP address and basic details about your browser, as happens with any web request.

Fonts are the only outside resource the site loads. There are no social media buttons, embedded videos or third-party widgets that might quietly report your visit elsewhere.

Google handles that information under its own privacy policy. We receive nothing from it and cannot see who has visited.

Letters you send us

If you write to editors@kestrelvalearcade.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it only to read your message and reply.

We keep correspondence only as long as needed to answer it and follow up on any correction, and we never pass it to anyone else or add you to a mailing list.

Publishers’ own rules once you click to play

Play buttons open each game’s official website in a new tab. That site is run by its publisher, who sets its own privacy practices, cookies and terms.

We recommend reading the privacy policy of any game before creating an account there.

Asking us about your data, and the ICO

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. In practice the only personal data we could hold is an email you sent us.

To make a request, write to editors@kestrelvalearcade.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator.

If Kestrelvalearcade ever handles data differently

If the way the site handles data ever changes, for example if we add a new feature, we will update this page and the revision date at the top.

We will always describe any change in the same plain terms, so you know exactly what the site does with your information.
